A.E.B.B.A ENGLAND TEAM SELECTION MEETING

 

Meeting held at the post Office Sports and Social Club on December 10 2006

 

 

The meeting was opened by the President of the AEBBA Mr Eric Hill at 10.45 am.

 

Mr Hill announced that the forthcoming International Match against Jersey is to be held over the week-end of 3^rd / 4^th February 2007 at the Oomeroo Hotel, St Helier, Jersey.

 

It was decided to select the Ladies team first, and the Ladies Captain Pauline Withey start the selection process.  After input from the delegates present, the team was settled upon as follows.

 

Captain            Pauline Withey

 

                        Jean Over, Sue Atkins, Myra Hawkins, Sue Mariner

 

Reserves            Bella Stoner, Denise Wills, Jane Wood.

 

The Mens team was then discussed, with captain Kevin Tunstall leading the debate as to who should represent the country over in the Channel Isles.

A few of those present on the Selection Committee felt that the up and coming youngsters should be given a chance to prove themselves at the highest level our game can offer.

 

This was duly noted during the discussions to select the team, and after much deliberation the team was settled on as follows.

 

Captain            Kevin Tunstall

 

Jim Millward, Steve Mariner,, Nigel Senior, Mark Turner, Paul Sainsbury, Tony Walsh, Phil Collins, Steven Sheard, Geoff Jukes, Chris Saville.

 

Reserves            Dennis Atkins, Chris Reeves, Leon Beer.

 

 

The Mens team to play Guernsey at home, at a venue to be decided, will be the top 7, ( or 9 ) players as above in the team for the Jersey Match.

 

There being no other business for the Selection Committee to discus, the President Mr Eric Hill declared the meeting closed at 11.35am.
